Tonight was a huge night over at The Red Bra Project YouTube Channel where we streamed episode 03 AND we highlighted our very first Red Bra Project guest, Jodi McMaster! This beautiful wife, mama of two, first grade teacher and Ohio State Buckeye (whoop – whoop!) fan is also the creator of an interactive learning & reading strategy that she has named, Circus Vowels. We talked life, strategy, fear, her entrepreneurial journey of over seven years and shared quite a few laughs and ahhh – ha moments!
She tells a story within a story that kids can relate to and immediately put the strategy to use making learning to read so much easier and fun! Those vests, though — are simply ADORABLE and the book is genius! You have to check them out in the video. The best part is it is that it is for kids and adults in a classroom or individually.
A little over seven years is about how long Jodi has been working on this passion project. She has been through the ups, downs & roller coaster of an entrepreneurial lifestyle and has had her fair share of struggles. Jodi is so truly grateful for the support of her Mom, her circle of other women business owners & her big vision that she feels in her heart that keeps her going. When we asked Jodi what was the one piece of advice, looking back that she would tell a new entrepreneur who has been at it for a couple of years, she said, “Don’t quit. It is really that. There are days after work, when I am Mom to two kids and a wife and I just don’t feel like it. But, I do and keep doing it, every night, 8 pm – midnight. Just keep going. Persevere. I talk to my kids at school all of the time about perseverance.”
Loved getting to sit down and chat with Jodi a little bit and listen to her heart and soul as she shared with us about Circus Vowels. If you would like more info about Circus Vowels or would like to support Jodi’s Kickstarter fund, please visit www.circusvowels.org.
